Holiday Inn Palm Springs
The Holiday Inn Palm Springs is a full-service resort hotel located in Palm Springs, CA. They are in the process of receiving a "Ground Up" network design, implementation and management solution from Nextora. This property has been converted into a completely state of the art IT infrastructure to include the following:
- Dedicated Microsoft Exchange server - Providing total access to all emails, contacts and calendars to all personnel from anywhere. PDA and Windows Smartphone technology have allowed them to keep a internet and email presence during the construction phases of the hotel. When an email arrives, it is instantly delivered to a Windows Smartphone device; Email is still access able through traditional Microsoft Outlook as well.
- Complete Backup solution - They have received a complete backup solution that ensures minimal downtime in the event of a network disaster. The software used can reload and restore a user's computer and data in less than 10 minutes. In traditional network backup design this process would be long and tedious, taking much longer (approx. 8-10 hours).
- IP Based Camera Network - Cameras are designed to react and record based upon movement on-screen, doors opening or closing, etc. Cameras are recorded on a hard disk so there is no need to switch our tapes, quality never degrades over time. All footage and live camera feeds are available from anywhere there is an internet connection.
- Integration of Proprietary Systems - Nextora acts as the liaison between management and third party vendors. Initial implementation of proprietary hotel management systems can be challenging. Lots of documents to read and lots of technical data. We sorted this all out for them and planned one system that integrates all of their systems together. This streamlined approach from the beginning greatly reduces the total cost of ownership of these products.
